Though, you may need many corrections in your style of functioning, you may not like others point them out . Also others may not be keen to give you constructive feedback. Even if you have a few well wishers, they too may not be inclined to criticize you, as it may strain their relationship with you. Hence, self-introspection is the only way to influence you. Yes! You can easily accept your own analysis and feedback.

Recognize misconceptions: Everyone has several concepts acquired by brought up, environment, personal experiences etc. Since people are conditioned, mostly they believe the concepts what they have are good, without rationalizing them. Self-introspection can take a stock of all such concepts and rationalize them to distinguish the misconceptions. It helps change your mental makeup properly.

Self-motivation / Re-charging: Self-introspection process can help you derive / recharge the needed motivation to meet all your life challenges and also to trim your personality suitably, time to time . Self-introspection can give you the needed power and motivation.

Adaptability conscious: Due to technology uptake and globalization, adaptability is a high valued skill to succeed. You must cope with changes & pressures always, whether you like it or not. You must know where you are rigid and non-compromising. Self-introspection can help you have an adaptability conscious and motivate you to be more flexible and open minded.

Gain an edge over others: It is a highly competitive world. Everyone is smart and trying to gain an edge over others to achieve more. Therefore, it is not just enough to be capable, but you have to be fast in everything too. You have to keep improvising yourself and even a small improvement in one aspect can make the difference. Self-introspection can help you trim your personality and fine tune yourself and help you stay in the winning orbit.

Understand the hard realities: Most of the people live with several problems and without knowing them and their consequences. One cannot recognize the problems that easily and needs continuous and repeated inputs. De - conditioning the conditioned people is a hard job. Success loving people must recognize the following hard realities.

Success is not consistent: Every success loving person thinks that he or she can achieve success easily. But in reality it is not true. Achievement motivation is an important factor for one to achieve more. Some persons achieve in the beginning of their life. But fail to achieve in their rest of life.

Similarly one achieves in one or two aspects of life and not in every aspect. It is difficult to find people who achieve consistently at every stage and in every aspect of their life. Achievement motivation makes the difference. Self-introspection can help have consistent achievement motivation.

Self development a daily agenda: Everyone talks about HRD and self-development very high. But in reality, people give less priority or no priority to HRD and self-development. Most of the people have a notion that self development is automatic and one need not take much efforts. Everyone has a rhythm in life. Yes, one has a clear timings for all their activities in life. Very hardly people have a specific time for self thinking / self analysis / self-development.

Also people have another wrong notion that only organizations are responsible for the HRD of their people. Only a very few personnel take the responsibility for their development. Unless one takes personal responsibility for his development and have a definite daily agenda for his development, he can't achieve more. Self-introspection can help a lot in this regard.

Mechanical and conditioned life: Every person is creative and potential. But due to brought up, personal experiences and environment, one gets conditioned and become more mechanical in his thinking and actions. Most of the people make decisions based on their feelings and perceptions. Even if they are helped with real facts, they could not recognize it and refuse.

Hence, whatever potentials or creativity they may have, they can't use them properly. Unless they devote some time for a self-thinking, they can't realize as how they are under utilizing their potentials and as how badly they are under the influence of conditioning. Self-introspection can help solve this problem.

Living in utopia: Every success loving person has ambitions and dreams. Everyone is so keen to get managerial skills and professional skills to succeed in life. Invariably people forget to understand who they are, really. Definitely one may not know, who he is really. But may not say it out and seek others help. He thinks it will let him down.
Also, he does not take adequate efforts to discover his own self properly. His reference groups / associates know him better because they are his video cameras. But may not be inclined to reveal the facts as he may not take their feedback positively. Hence, they always give exaggerated positive feedback and suppress the negative aspects totally, to achieve their agenda.

Even if someone gives the true feedback, he may not appreciate it. Therefore, he pretends to others and others also pretend to him. Thus he is living in total dark .Only self introspection can save him from this danger.

Self training is the best option: Generally, people think that they need trainers for any training. But it is not always true. Even without trainers, one can get trained in the aspects wanted using self-training methods. After all training is a learning process and learning is more of behavior modification process. There are a number of self-training ways. In fact it is more cost effective and time effective.

Self-training can address your needs precisely. Group trainings can only address common needs. Group trainings can help you get started in any aspect and you can hardly learn 20% of the total learning needed in any aspect. Only self-training can help you have 100% learning. Hence it is the need of the hour. Self-introspection can help you develop self-training skills.
