As the news about the possibility of Rajanikanth acting as Tipu Sultan emerged it resulted in all hell breaking loose with an array of extremist organizations coming down heavily on the actor for thinking about acting in the movie.Interestingly the superstar is yet to confirm or deny the news.The latest to join the bandwagon of protesters is the BJP unit in Tamil Nadu which warned the actor against accepting the offer.Senior BJP leader L Ganesan told a leading daily that Rajinikanth should not act in the movie. ldquoHe Rajinikanth is my very good friend. I am sure he will not take up the role portraying Tipu Sultan as a hero. Tipu was an aggressor who committed maximum atrocities against Hindus. Rajinikanth will never take up a role to portray such a characterrdquo said Ganesan. ldquoKnowing the history how can I be silent when there are attempts to glorify foreigners who invaded us and our culturerdquo he added.
