Lewis Hamilton retains world championship Britains Lewis Hamilton in Mercedes has retained the Formula One world championship after winning the US grand prix in Texas in front of teammate Rosberg who finished second. Vettel in Ferrari was third. Rosberg had started in pole position with Hamilton second but the lead changed several times between the two in an exciting race which was rain free though the qualification rounds were affected by the downpours. Due to the wetness of the track eight drivers retired from the race including Philipe Massa and Kim Raikonnen.
