South Africa beat India in Rajkot ODI India lost their nerves once again and lost the third ODI at Rajkot by 18 runs when they failed to raise the scoring rate in the middle overs and left it too late for the later batsmen. Thanks to a fine 103 by Quinton de Kock and another good knock of 60 by Flaf du Plessis South Africa managed a competitive total of 270 for 7 but a far higher total was in the offing when the Proteas were riding high at 205 for 2 in 34.4 overs. Good tight bowling and quick loss of wickets restricted the final score and the final score looked attainable with the powerful batting line-up that India has. But except for Rohit Sharma who scored 65 in 74 balls the remaining batsmen found it hard to get the ball away and by the time Kohli77 from 99 and Dhoni 47 from 61 were dismissed the target was looking more and more difficult. Suresh Raina added to his string of failures and Rahane got out soon after. Harbhajan and Patel performed some fireworks to wake up the fans but in the end India fell short by 18 runs. It is 2-1 in favour of South Africa now and the fourth ODI is on 22nd at Chennai. Scores South Africa 270 for 7 Quinton de Kock 103 Flaf du Plessis 60 India 252 for 6 Kohli 77 Sharma 65 Dhoni 47 Morkel 4 for 49
