Ashwins five wicket haul India strongly placed at Mohali India are 142 runs ahead with eight second innings wickets in hand at close on the second day of the first cricket test at Mohali against South Africa. South Africa who were 25 for 2 overnight were dismissed for 184 with Ashwin doing most of the damage taking 5 wickets for 51 runs. Jadeja and Misra took 3 and 2 wickets respectively. Murali and Poojara however batted well and took the score to 95 when Murali was brilliantly caught at short leg off the bowling of Imran Tahir. Kohli joined Poojara and the pair are together at close with India on 125 for 2. Poojara is on 63 and Kohli on 11.
