Law of Karma – “Value Systems for Success”

The knowledge of the Truth dispels Bondage

When youth is spent, where is lustful play? When water is evaporated, where is the lake? When wealth is gone, where are the dependents? When truth is known, where is worldly bondage?

Here he is giving four epigrams to convey the idea that when the cause is extinct, the effect is also no more. The cause of attachment to the world is ignorance of the Truth. Worldly bondage is the wheel of life you are caught up in, which causes you to experience sorrow and suffering.

Once you recognize the truth, there is no worldly bondage as well as the sorrows and sufferings associated with it. Ignorance of the Truth is the cause of worldly bondage. When you gain knowledge of Truth, the cause is gone consequently the effect of worldly bondage is no more.

When youth is spent where is the lust and passion of the age? The lust and passion of the youth vanishes when you grow up to be an old man. Similarly, when one advances in spiritual age and passion and craving for materiality vanishes.
