The prestigious International Film Festival of IndiaIFFI will begin today evening with a glittering opening ceremony. The 45 th edition of the event will open at the Goan capitalPanaji the permanent venuein the presence of chief guest Amitabh Bachan and film directors John Soo-il Mohsen Makhmalbaf Krystoff Zanussi as the guests of honour. Tamil superstar Rajanikanth will be presented with the Centencs Award for Indian Film Personality of the year during the opening ceremony. Around 13000 delegates have registered for IFFI and is said to be bigger than the previous editions on all counts. The 11 day extravaganza will open with The President directed by Mohsen Makhmalbaf. The closing film will be The Grandmaster by Wong Kar Wai. 178 films will be screened this year from 79 countries.
