Novak Djokovic defeats Roger Federer to win the 2015 U.S. Open title. After a four-hour rain delay on Arthur Ashe the U.S. Open mens championship finally got underway. No. 1 Novak Djokovic took the first set vs. No. 2 Roger Federer 6ndash4 ending Federers winning streak of 28 straight sets since losing to Djokovic in the Wimbledon final in July. But Federer came back in the second setmdashwith the help of a very pro-Federer Arthur Ashe crowdmdashto take the second set 7ndash5. In the third set Federer had several break point opportunities but Djokovic steadied and served out the set at 6ndash4 to take a 2ndash1 lead in the match. Djokovic pulled away in the fourth set and served for the match at 5ndash2 in the final set but Federer rallied to make it 5ndash4. In the end Djokovic closed out the match 6ndash4 in the final set.
