Leister City in second place after win over Aston Villa Leister City who barely managed to avoid relegation last year with some stunning displays towards the end of the season continued their form by making a spectacular come-back win over Aston Villa and overtaking Manchester United to be second in the table behind Manchester City with 11 points. City were two goals down until the 66th minute when Ritchie De Laet s flick off a corner from Riyad Mahrez was headed off the line by Lee Westwood but the ball was declared to have crossed the line with the aid of goal line technology. Mahrez again found holes in the Villa midfield and his mazy run found Danny Drinkwater whose cross was toed in by Vardy for the second goal. Mehrez was once again the provider when his floater into the Villa penalty box was bravely headed past the onrushing keeper Guzan by Nathan Dyer. Earlier Leister looked like losing their unbeaten start to the season after wonderful curling efforts from Jack Grealish -- his first goal for Villa -- and Carles Gil put the visitors in the driving seat. In the day s second match Tottenham Hotspur managed to squeeze a winner in the 82nd minute after Ryan Mason scored off a pass from Lamela in a match which was dominated by Sunderland for most of the contest. This is the win of the season for Spurs and with 6 points they are 12th in the table. Photo courtesy www.theguardian.com
